Seven Years and Growing
I would like to express my heartfelt💛congratulations to myself for dedicating the last seven years to a project that has undergone an incredible evolution alongside my personal growth.
I am not sure about the exact date, but November was definitely the end of a cycle and the beginning of another. Throughout this journey, I have encountered numerous challenges and often found myself on a solitary path.
If I were to summarise these seven years in just a few words, I would describe them as a testament to my unwavering passion, endless curiosity, continuous discovery, remarkable personal and professional growth, persistent determination, unrelenting belief in myself, and unwavering faith in the project.
What factors motivate individuals to embark on projects and pursue their ideas?
There are several factors that can lead a person to launch themselves into a project:
– Passion: A strong passion or interest in a specific field or topic can drive a person to initiate a project.
– Purpose: Having a clear sense of purpose or a defined goal can motivate someone to start a project. The desire to make a difference, solve a problem, or achieve a specific outcome can provide the necessary drive to begin and commit to a project.
– Personal Growth: The opportunity for personal growth and learning can inspire someone to take on a project.
– External Inspiration: Inspiration from others, whether it’s from mentors, role models, or success stories, can encourage someone to launch themselves into a project.
– Independence and Autonomy: The desire for independence and autonomy can be a strong motivating factor.
– Need or Demand: Identifying a need or demand in the marketplace or within a community can prompt someone to start a project.
– Overcoming Challenges: Some people are driven by the desire to overcome challenges and prove themselves.
– Financial Opportunities: The potential for financial gain or profit can also lead someone to take on a project.
Why did I initiate and fully commit to this project?
I was motivated by personal fulfilment, autonomy, and financial gain. After working in different fields such as accounting and Quality assurance, which gave me great experience and skills, I realised my soul was asking for something more.
In 2016, I found myself without clear goals, both personally and professionally. I had made major life decisions in the past that completely changed my path, but I realised that I was letting others take control of my life.
When the company I had worked at for over four years decided to close the office, I was faced with the reality of my dependence on external decisions and the income limitations that come with it.
I desired a life of financial security and I knew that I needed to take risks in order to achieve it. I couldn’t also ignore the growing feeling of dissatisfaction and wondered what else I could do to find fulfilment.
Fulfilment, as they say, is a state of being where one finds purpose and meaning in pursuing personal goals, contributing to the well-being of others, and experiencing personal growth and self-actualization.
Feeling unsatisfied can be a positive thing; it pushes us to expand and grow. Bob Proctor used to say:
You should never be satisfied — happy, but not satisfied. Dissatisfaction is a creative state. It took you out of the cave and put you into the condominium. It gave you the wheel, the fax and the furnace. Dissatisfaction gave you and me a lifestyle that is the envy of the world.
– Bob Proctor
Dissatisfaction can be a signal that your needs or values have evolved. It asks you to reflect on what truly matters to you, helping you gain a deeper understanding of yourself and your priorities.
This shift in perception helped me realise that, while I genuinely enjoyed my jobs and felt content, my sense of dissatisfaction actually served as a signal for personal growth. As a result, a whole new world of opportunities unfolded before me.
It’s essential to channel dissatisfaction into constructive actions and not let it lead to chronic stress or negativity. In this way, dissatisfaction can become a catalyst for positive transformation and personal development.
My advice to you is to appreciate the opportunities that come with having a job, but also recognise its limitations. The same applies to owning a business – it involves risks, obstacles, and investments of time and money. However, it also offers fulfilment, no financial ceiling, and autonomy. These aspects were incredibly important to me. What is important for you?
Achieving a harmonious balance between maintaining a job and pursuing your entrepreneurial endeavors can be fantastic and it is achievable for some.
In any path you choose, it is essential to keep challenging yourself and strive to do a bit more each day in every task. By doing so, you will be in harmony with one of the natural laws, and only good things can come your way.
How did I start my project?
No, I didn’t have a clear idea or plan, if that’s what you’re asking. But I became interested in natural therapies and how they can improve people’s lives, including my own. That was my starting point, a strong interest in a specific topic.
Moving to Australia was a personal eye-opener for me. However, it’s not necessarily the same for everyone. While the environment can have a significant impact on you, if you’re closed-minded, nothing will change. I have many examples of this.
While people’s lives can improve to some extent,
The only way to change your ‘outer’ world is to first change your ‘inner’ world.
– T. Harv Eker
Things began to really change for me when I moved to the Gold Coast in 2012. It was then that a new world opened up for me, and I connected with amazing individuals who fuelled my curiosity even further.
I started by creating a blog on Wellbeing in 2017. I was even interviewed for a Portuguese television program on RTP. Through this process, I had to learn about various new areas such as blogging, websites, natural therapies, and most importantly, the power of our mind. Along the way, I discovered something about myself that I hadn’t been aware of: my love for learning. Since then, I’ve become addicted to books, attended webinars and followed up mentors and experts that explore the mind and the brain.
It has been a long and winding road, far from a straight line. There were moments when it would have been easier to give up on my dreams. But that’s not even an option for me now.
Over the past seven years, I got caught in the mindset of “I am getting ready.” One more book, one more seminar, one more course… all of it made sense and was useful, but it also stole valuable time from me. Money can always be recovered, but time is lost forever.
Here’s the lesson I’ve learned, and I want to share it with you. This applies to any situation. A shift in mindset can work wonders.
Instead of focusing on what you don’t have or know, ask yourself, “With what I have and know today, what can I start doing now?“
You will start to notice ideas flowing into your mind. Yes, I do have a few opportunities to offer you. If I don’t present them, I feel like I would be doing you a disservice.
